Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information the Volt Discord bot ("Volt", "we", "us") processes, why, how it is stored, and how you can have it removed. By using Volt you consent to the practices described here. Volt is operated by an individual and is not affiliated with Discord Inc.

1 Information We Process #

Volt only processes data made available to it through Discord in servers where it has been added, strictly to provide its features. We do not ask for, collect, or want real-world personal information such as your legal name, address, phone number, or payment details.

Discord user IDs, usernames, display names, avatars Identify accounts for economy/leveling, render rank & level-up cards, attribute moderation/anti-nuke actions, build leaderboards.
Server (guild) IDs, role IDs, channel IDs Store per-server configuration and apply features in the correct place.
Message metadata & limited message content Award XP, parse commands and their arguments, and detect abuse (e.g. mass-mention / nuke patterns). Volt does not build profiles from your messages or store full message history for analytics.
Economy & game data Virtual balances, bank, inventory, stats, cooldowns, levels/XP — required for the economy and leveling systems to work.
Moderation & anti-nuke data Blacklist/whitelist entries, infractions, anti-nuke configuration, and moderation/audit/join–leave log entries that server staff have enabled.
Voice channel state (music) Which voice channel you're in, only to join and stream the requested track. Volt does not listen to, record, or store any audio.
Server configuration Settings created by server admins (setup options, anti-nuke config, UI/canvas customizations).
Media you submit to media commands Images/videos/GIFs you explicitly provide to a media command are processed only to produce the requested output, then discarded — see §3.

2 How We Use Information #

  • To provide, operate, and maintain Volt's features;
  • To enforce server-configured moderation and anti-nuke protections;
  • To prevent abuse, cheating, exploits, and to enforce our Terms of Service;
  • To diagnose errors and improve reliability.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your data, and we do not use it for advertising.

3 Media & Music #

Files you submit to media/image commands are fetched transiently to generate the requested result, processed in temporary storage, and deleted after processing. They are not retained, indexed, or used for any other purpose.

Music playback streams audio from SoundCloud into your voice channel on request. Volt does not record, transcribe, or store any voice-channel audio, and only needs to know which channel to join.

4 Storage & Security #

Data is stored in databases/files operated for the bot on third-party hosting infrastructure (currently SparkedHost). Access is limited to the operator. We apply reasonable measures to protect data, but no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

5 Data Retention #

  • Economy, leveling, moderation, and configuration data is retained for as long as Volt is used in the relevant server, or until it is reset/removed (e.g. by an admin, due to abuse handling, or data loss).
  • If Volt is removed from a server, associated server data may be deleted automatically or during routine cleanup. You may also request earlier deletion (see §6).
  • Submitted media and streamed audio are not retained beyond processing.

6 Your Choices & Data Removal #

You may request access to, or deletion of, the data Volt holds about your Discord account, and server owners may request deletion of their server's data. To make a request, contact us with your Discord user ID (and server ID where relevant):

We will action verified requests within a reasonable period. Note that removing certain data (e.g. blacklist entries created for abuse) may be refused where retention is necessary to protect servers, and that you can stop all processing at any time by removing Volt or not using its commands.

7 Third Parties #

  • Discord — Volt operates on Discord; your use is also governed by Discord's Privacy Policy.
  • SoundCloud — music search/playback resolves tracks via SoundCloud; their terms and privacy policy apply to that content.
  • Hosting provider — infrastructure used to run Volt and store its data.

These providers process data only to host/operate the Service. Volt does not share your data with any other third parties except where required by law.

8 Children's Privacy #

Volt is not directed to children under the minimum age required to use Discord (at least 13, or higher where local law requires). We do not knowingly process data from anyone below that age. If you believe a child's data has been processed, contact us and we will remove it.

9 Changes to This Policy #

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes are effective when posted; the "Last updated" date above will reflect the latest revision. Continued use of Volt after changes constitutes acceptance.
